Dominique Portet has wine running through his blood. He grew up in Bordeaux where his father was chief of the cellar at Chateau Lafite, before settling in Victoria. After running Taltarni and Clover Hill he ‘retired’ in 2000 to the Yarra Valley, making wine from his own vines. Ben, his son now carries the baton. His latest Cab is beautifully varietal, with some leafy notes to the cassis.
