Stargazer is owned by Samantha Connew, a New Zealander originally from Blenheim. Whilst studying law she fell in love with wine, whilst working at a wine bar. She dropped studying law for viticulture and on completion worked vintages in Italy, US and parts of Australia before settling in Tasmania. 2012 marked the first vintage of Stargazer.
Her 'Rada' is a blend of Pinot Meunier (51%) and Pinot Noir (49%).
