2019 Patrick of Coonawarra 'Two Blocks' Cabernet Sauvignon

Patrick Tocaciu had been winemaking in SA for 30 years before he purchased his first block in 1990. He had held chief winemaking positions at Tollana, Hollick Wines and Heathfield Ridge Winery. In 2004 he released their first wines, under the Patrick brand. In 2013 he passed away and eldest son Luke, took over the winemaking reins. The previous vintages we've stocked were quite oaky but not this 2019. It is wonderfully perfumed, cherries and vanilla. The palate is a perfectly weighted Coonawarra Cabernet, with black currant fruit, some sweet vanilla and ripe tannins.
