Ian and Lynn Rathjen are fourth generation farmers and vignerons in the region. Ian’s great grandfather was one of the first to plant vines in the area, but unfortunately those vines planted in the 1850s are well gone. The Whistling Eagle brand was created in 1999 after decades of selling their fruit off. Ian is the winemaker and his wines are made with a minimal approach using traditional methods.
The 'Bomber' is a lovely fleshy wine, with plump fruit characters and very punter friendly.
