2019 Tarrawatta Eden Valley Shiraz
Taken from the James Halliday Wine Companion
"Tarrawatta’s inaugural Shiraz and Grenache immediately secure its place among the who’s who of the Barossa, making this one of the most exciting newcomers this year. Devoted exclusively to red wines, fruit is currently sourced entirely from the estate Ambervale vineyard in the northern Eden Valley. First planted in the mid 1800s, today the site boasts mostly dry-grown shiraz, cabernet sauvignon and a little grenache, with vines dating from 1968. A 2nd site is earmarked for planting. Nick Radford oversees the vineyards and management of the estate, with Izway’s Craig Isbel taking care of winemaking. The estate is owned by the Goldin Group, alongside Sloan Estate in the Napa and 3 Bordeaux château, including Château Le Bon Pasteur in Pomerol. Exports to Hong Kong."
This is a pretty wine. It is a toned down version to the Barossa style.
