Giovanni Patritti left his Italian home in 1925 and boarded a boat, which he thought was destined for America. Instead he landed in Port Adelaide, with no English. Just one year later he was leasing vineyards to make wine for the ‘new Australians’. Nearly 100 years later the family (3rd generation) still own, operate and make the wines.

This is Georgia’s main grape variety, where it makes all styles from dry to semi sweet. It’s dark in the glass and some tend to be quite tight and tannic, in their youth. It tends to cope well in cooler climates but has adapted to some of our warmer regions.

Ultra-dark, in the glass. Aromas of beetroot and raspberry, and hints of game. The gamey characters continue, in the mouth, along with sweet black plum and dense earthy characters.
