2021 Linke Barossa Valley Shiraz
Linke is a 5th generation German farming family who settled in the Barossa Valley. They’re 3rd generation grape growers and since 2002 have been produced their own label, Linke. For 30 years they’ve been providing their fruit to the famous St Hallett’s winery and also to Langmeil since they started in the mid 90s. So there’s some quality fruit on show that’s for sure. This is the third vintage we’ve stocked, and boy do they know how to make big reds. The back label states that the grapes are picked at optimum ripeness off their Stonewell vineyard. Optimum indeed. The wine is inky black and weighing in at 15.9% alcohol. It’s more fruit driven than a ball buster.
