2017 Barbanera 'Gigino' Tuscany

After two years of negotiations, Barbanera wines have hit our shores. They have never been sold in Australia before and in some instances, only tiny volumes were allocated. Only six outlets in Australia have access to them. These are special wines, made with love and passion.

Luca Maroni, Italy’s most famous wine critic rated them as his winery of the year in 2018 & 2020. He is like a god, in Europe and is the expert people go to when Italian wine is in the spotlight. 

'Gigino' is the flagship red of the winery and bottled to celebrate 80 years of the family's winemaking history. It is a Sangiovese / Merlot & Petit Verdot blend and Luca rated it with 99 POINTS. Aromas overload with dark berry fruits and smoked paprika. The palate is velvety smooth and mouth coating.
