2016 Craiglee ‘Eadie’s Block’ Shiraz – Sunbury VIC
‘Eadie’s Block’ is a small parcel (150 boxes) release from Pat Carmody. He made the wine to be exclusively sold at the cellar door, but COVID 19 put a stop to that. This limited release is the first time the fruit, off this young block has been vinified separately and released under this label. The medium bodied wine has the hallmark Craiglee pepper and spice characters and red berry fruits.
150 grams of Onetik Ossau-Iraty (Ewes milk) – Basque, Pyrenees FRANCE
Said to be one of the first cheeses ever made, Ossau-Iraty is made according to a tradition that dates back some 3,000 years. Ossau-Iraty is produced in two regions, the southwest of France in the Northern Basque Country’s Irati region and in Bearn’s neighboring Ossau Valley.
The wheel we have has been aged for 12 months and is has developed calcium crystals that result in a wonderful subtle crunch. It is a tad sharp and salty.
Accompanied with crackers, dried apricots, muscatels and quince paste.
