Florence, Italy, 1919.

Returning from a long and botanically infused journey, where he discovered the wonders of London, Count Camillo Negroni walks into Caffé Casoni. About to order his usual, he pauses, saying to the bartender, “Fosco, no soda for me today – the Americano needs some backbone. Give me some gin with my Campari and vermouth.”

Classic London dry gin, premium Italian sweet vermouth and Campari have been blended to perfection for long, pre-dinner libations.  

Chill in the fridge and serve over ice with a half-slice of orange. Food matches: bold flavours - think salted meats and strong cheeses. One negroni taken with an Amalfi pizza defies description. For something a little lighter, try with a Caprese salad or watermelon, feta, black olive and mint salad.
