In 1997 David Hamilton planted the family’s elevated property with grape vines. Golden Child is the brand he and his winemaking son James, has created. The fruit for the wines is hand-picked, off the family block. James works on minimal intervention in the winery, using natural yeasts and the wines are bottled unfiltered with minimal sulphur. This Sauvignon Blanc is a Fume style, so it’s really textural, with flinty characters and lemon meringue pie flavours.
