2021 Rosenthal ‘The Marker’ Frankland River Shiraz

This is the project of two winemaking mates, Coby Ladwig (Singlefile Wines) & Luke Eckersley (Plantagenet Wines). They have their full-time job and make Rosenthal Wines, at Plantagenet on the side. Their Shiraz is loaded with raspberry jam aromas and the palate is juicy, medium bodied, with raspberry fruit flavours and some tart mulberry characters to finish.

The palate displays excellent concentration and depth, wonderfully complemented by fleshy texture and fine tannins. It strikes up engaging aromas of spices and plums on the nose with just a little blue fruit character. But then the palate starts to hum with its rich and smoothly textured combination of spicy plum, dried herbs and smooth chocolate. The typically fine powdery tannins of this vineyard then play their role while just a little of that ferrous character poking through."
