2018 Gaia 'Notios' Nemea Agiorgitiko Syrah

Gaia wines was established in 1994, firstly producing white wines from Santorini. In 1997 a winery was established in Nemea (around 1.5 hour drive south west of Athens), concentrating on Agiorgitiko. Their Notios (meaning The Southerner) is predominantly Agiorgitiko with some Syrah. It is youthful and softly spicy, full of black cherry and white pepper. It is slightly tart, but that is not so noticeable with some food. Great with a lamb souvlaki and plenty of laughter with friends.
