2010 Hamelin Bay ‘Rampant Red’ Margaret River Shiraz Cabernet Merlot

The Drake-Brockman family planted their Karridale property in 1992. Their site is the most southerly of any Margaret River producer (10 minutes from Leeuwin Estate). This 'Rampant Red' is a blend of estate grown Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot. Forrest floor and wild mushroom aromas would make you think the palate would be lacking fruit. On the contrary, it shows sweet berry fruit, vanilla bean sweetness and soft, ripe tannins.
