Maison Besserat was founded in 1843. In 1920 Edmond Besserat married Yvonne Meric de Bellefon and the two families joined to create Besserat de Bellefon. Their claim to fame came in the 1970s where their wines were chosen to be the Champagne poured on all Air France Concorde flights.
The fruit for their vintage Champagne is sourced from 6 Grand Cru & 1 Premier Cru village. The blend is made up of 69% Chardonnay, 21% Pinot Noir & 10% Pinot Meunier and spent 12 years on yeast lees.
